The Hong Kong International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. There are about 1,000 flights landing and taking off each day and the number keeps breaking new records. The Civil Aviation Department has to take precautionary measures for adverse weather. To enable air traffic controllers be better prepared for the ever-changing weather, the Aviation Safety Safeguarding Team of the Hong Kong Observatory plays a significant role behind the scene.
